Gabriela was chosen because she displays the following wonderful qualities as instructor,
•built a community encouraging healthy eating, wellness and fitness
•hosts group fitness master classes, labs and trainings and encourages the community to attend
•motivated community to attend group fitness master classes outside her studio and encourages them to dress alike in workout outfits and take videos to post on social media
•always sharing group fitness on social to promote new releases
SWERK has truly been an opportunity where my passion & purpose collide. Over the last 5 years I have been blessed to grow as a servant leader for the community of amazing & diverse individuals from all walks of life that I have built. From kids to college & beyond, I have been able to impact so many lives through this little dance fitness dream, helping them find their inner strength, developing confidence & improving physical fitness across the globe. It has also allowed me to give back to several meaningful organizations, which really feeds my soul. Even though we are all so different, on the dance floor none of that matters. SWERK may not be for everyone, but it is open to anyone & does not discriminate. It’s not just a class, it’s a lifestyle & if you have a heartbeat I would love to dance with you!
Melinda is an all around community leader.As a Belly Dancing Body Fitness instructor she represents the brand perfectly and then takes her passion to help others to a whole new level. She takes time to not only theme all of her classes in order to bring out the most fun that she can for her students to enjoy, but she empowers them to never worry about what others think and come have fun.while she leads them to greatness. Her passion is over flowing in ways I’ve never seen. She makes her own clothes to wear to class and makes things for her students. She asking uuses her classes to raise money for people in need in the community. Her classes are easy to follow so that everyone feels successful and her spirit is so engaging. She comforts anyone who is around her . Aside from this she is an elementary school teacher and does the same things for the kids., Melinda brings light love passion, and tons of sparkle wherever she goes and is the instructor that I choose, hands down, for INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR.
Israel was chooses as Instructor of the year, because he helped hundreds of women during the pandemic by offering his virtual classes totally free. He reached out to the Latin community all over the US to keep moving, keep dancing and encouraged everyone to support each other through the many hard months after the pandemic. He also teaches classes to the disabled population and the elderly. All his classes are Free or donation based only. He has his own dance fitness format called Cumbiamba Dance & Fitness and his mission is to include people with disabilities, seniors, and everyone who wants to dance to stay healthy.
As a group fitness instructor, I incorporate community, passion, and inclusivity, one class, one student, at a time. Group fitness is for everyone! I believe that! My classes are inclusive to all fitness levels, and physical abilities. I provide modifications and different intensities to ensure an amazing workout. My students success is of the upmost importance. I want them to feel comfortable, safe, have fun, and get the best workout every class! This also helps build community in the classes. Friendships are developed, selfies are taken, texts and calls are made, social media connections develop, and much more! I love it! Relationships between my students and myself are built as well. This helps provide an encouraging and positive environment for everyone. I stay involved in the group fitness community by attending community events, Masterclasses, Jam Sessions, on-line District meetings, by subbing for other instructors, and by attending other instructors classes. I am very passionate about this program. I use my own weight loss story/journey with group fitness, to encourage and inspire others. I am an example of what group fitness, a healthy diet, and a steady regime can do to help one achieve their goals. There's nothing I want more than for my students to succeed. I love when a student tells me about a goal they hit, milestones they met, pants that are too big, and seeing the confidence they build. I also love when they migrate from the back of the room, to the front of the room. I currently have a student interested in becoming an instructor, and I'm encouraging her to do so. That's a huge honor to me, as she told me I'm her inspiration. I will continue to do my best to promote and encourage group fitness in any way that I can. It's a program that I love and believe in, and am very passionate about. I'm honored to be chosen as the Instructor of the year!
My fitness journey began for me at age 40 when I began experiencing symptoms of hypertension, diabetes & abnormal lab results. Instead of taking meds which my doctor recommended, I chose another avenue. I trusted my intuition and signed up for a 6 week challenge in which I lost 35lbs and brought my body fat percent from __ to 23%. After I made the changes to my body, I realized that I needed to make changes in other areas of my life, everything was just a matter of balance. That's where I came across KANGOO JUMPS REBOUND BOOTS. At first it was just something I thought would just help me get my cardio fix and help maintain my weight, but is way more than just a workout it give me so much joy #jumpforjoy as we call it an instant feel good that i did something awesome for myself physically and mentaly after every workout. From that point a person of my nature that was never active nor concerned about my wellbeing instantly became a health and fitness advocate helping and spreading inspiration that it is never too late to get back your life, live healthy and happy, no age, gender or race can be a reason not to start getting fit. Presently an Official Kangoo Jumps Instructor for almost 2 years now continuing to show hope to ordinary people that anything is really really possible.
After the pandemic Gina did free virtual classes for the public for the months of March April and May … to help keep people moving and hold the community together. Then She went to outdoor classes before Her studio was allowed to reopen. She donated food to local front line workers to help local businesses by ordering from them and delivering to those that were working hard and risking their own safety. She does multiple charity classes over the year … collecting money for Breast cancer awareness, local food pantries, and toys for tots.
Rick invites everyone to LIVE LOUDLY because everyone deserves to be heard. He challenges his class to DANCE RUTHLESSLY, because this time is for them. Most important, he asks his class to EVOLVE UNAPOLAGETICALLY; he acknowledges that everyone is a work in progress. Rick reminds his class that fitness is not about sizes or shapes, that fitness is about commitment. His workouts are dance-centric, so participants don’t just go through the motions together. They PERFORM. His class performs in front of a mirror, so everyone can admire their gorgeous bodies, what their bodies can do for them, and see themselves as part of a community. Every class ends with all participants holding hands, taking a bow together. Rick self-describes his class as “inclusive AF,” celebrating Black History Month, Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and many other cultures through themed workouts and charity events. Rick is a cheerleader to everyone. Not just in his own classes, but in the dance fitness and fitness community as a whole. He is a natural networker, but even more importantly, he is the glue that holds a community together.
